REAL MADRID forward Gareth Bale will reportedly consider a move to Chelsea after being rejected by Manchester United that could pave the way for Eden Hazard to join the Bernabeu outfit.
Gareth Bale has been linked with a move away from the capital after a frustrating time with injuries and a return to the Premier League could be on the cards in the summer.
United showed interest in the Welshman last summer but following the acquisitions of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez, Jose Mourinho has already confirmed he will not be on the lookout for more attacking players when the transfer window reopens.
Spanish publication Diario Gol claim Bale is keen on a move to the Premier League and has also explored the option of a return to Tottenham.
But with Mauricio Pochettino also giving him the cold shoulder, Bale is considering a switch to Chelsea.
Madrid see this opportunity as a way to try and finally land Eden Hazard.
Zinedine Zidane and club president Florentino Perez are long-term admirers of the Belgian and are set to break the bank in the summer to try and finally convince Chelsea to sell.
But the Blues will play hardball over any transfer negations for their prized asset.
The European champions hope Bale’s willingness to join Chelsea will help convince Antonio Conte’s side to do business.
However, any potential swap deal hinges on whether Zidane is in charge next season.
The Frenchman’s future will be under serious threat if he cannot win them the Champions League this term following a disastrous La Liga campaign.
